Annotation:

The role of coal in power generation and the basic factors determining the quality of coal have been defined. The article considers the interaction of factors determining the quality of coal. The effect of the fuel component on prime cost of power generation at thermal power plants through the cost of useful thermal energy has been defined. The influence of coal quality on the economic performance of power generation and resource-saving has been evaluated.
