Abstract:
Purpose. To study petrology and ore content peculiarities of metasomatic listvenite-berezites formation within greenstone structures (GSS) of the Middle Pridneprovie and define the complex ore formation regularities, which are spatially and genetically related to zones of telescopic metasomatic deposits.
Methodology. To study the listvenite-berezite petrology and ore content, we have used petrograpthical, mineragraphycal and geochemical methods. To define the role of the tectonic factor in the ore formation process we have studied the juxtaposition of metasomatic zones in Middle Pridneprovie with zones of deep faults by means of the analysis of geology-geophysical data on maps of different scale.
Findings. Listvenites and berezites are widespread in all green-stone structures of the Middle Pridneprovie. In western area of the Belozersky GSS and within the Yuzhno-Belozersky massif of ultramafites we have found chromite, complex noble metals ores, talk, magnesite, asbestos, mineralization of Co, Cu, Ni, Hg. All ore deposites are related to zones of tectogenesis and intensive metasomatic processes such as listvenitization, serpentinization of several stages (lizardite, antigorite, chrisotil), carbonization. Genesis of ore mineralization has been determined as dislocation-methamorphyc.
High ore content in metasomatic deposits of GSS in Middle Pridneprovie is caused by their spatial coincidence with deep faults intersections and repeated activation of different system faults accompanied by magmatic and metamorphic hydrothermal activity, which leads to formation of polychronous and complex ores of noble and rare metals, which spatially are related to telescopic metasomatic formation zones. By results of researches we should determine the Belozersky, Verkhovtsevsky, Chertomlyksky and Sursky GSS as ore clasters, because of their location in the intersection of four-six deep fault systems in the Middle Pridneprovie megablock.
Originality. The metallogeny specialization of sericite-carbonate metasomatic formations within Middle Pridneprovie megablock has been established. Spatial relation of the telescopic ore-bearing metasomatic deposits to deep faults intersections has been shown. We have determined the dual role of the metasomatic processes on deep fault system activation (positive for complex noble metal mineralization and negative for platinum-bearing chromatic formation and chrisotile-asbestos mineralization).
Practical value. We have established, that probability of deposit formation and complex composition of ores rise with growth of the number of deep faults, which intersect in a junction, which may be determined as ’ore claster’, which concentrate deposits of noble metals and another raw materials of different age and composition, such as non-metal deposits.
