The article considers the issue of the Electronic Document Management Systems’ construction in higher educational establishments. The analysis of software engineering process standards, methods of business process description, comparison of subject-oriented and service-oriented architecture for building EDMSs was carried out. Practical recommendations on the complex use of theoretical approaches were given as well.
