Management for sustainable development in transitional economies
This section has been prepared in the framework of the international project ‘Establishment of an international network of universities for cooperation in the field of greening the curriculum’, which was initiated by the International Forum of Universities held on 28–29 November 2013 in Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine). The coordinators of the project are the State Higher Educational Institution ‘National Mining University’ (represented by its rector Prof. Dr. Gennadiy Pivnyak, member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (represented by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael Schmidt, Germany) with support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (represented by Mr. Bertold Hansmann, Germany).
The purpose of this section is to increase the awareness to issues of sustainable development, to the formation of knowledge about tools for sustainable development at all levels of economic activities, to promote the role of universities in the transformation of the educational process in the context of sustainable development in countries with economies in transition, to develop methods for ‘greening’ the university curricula.
