An emergency shutdown sensors and actuators, which are commonly used on underground conveyors, cableways, hoists and other transfer mechanisms are unfit for some requirements of the State standard of Ukraine (ДСТУ ЕN 60204-1: 2004) “Electrical equipment of machines. Part 1: General requirements.” In addition, because of only one contact connection available there is no capability to attach signaling links to these sensors. A brand new actuators of “VDH” series (remote mine actuators) are developed in compliance with up-to-date requirements. Such actuator has two independent switchable contacts and light-emitting diode indication.
Remote mine actuators are designed for mine conveyor automation schemes, surface and aerial conveyors, and all control and alarm systems with spark-safe circuits of level “Ia”. These remote actuators could be manufactured in five different packages using the same design datum.

VDH-1. Designed for emergency shutdown of the cargo conveyor at any location along the conveyor with or without fixation of disabled state. It is also designed for local conveyor startup blocking. The distance between actuators is up to 120 meters.

VDH-2. Designed for emergency shutdown of the cargo-and-passenger conveyors at any location along the conveyor, as well as emergency shutdown executed by passenger on the conveyor with fixation of the disabled state. It is also designed for local conveyor startup blocking. Used jointly with draft device with length up to 300 meters.

These actuators of “VHD” series are patented in Ukraine (№ 2323498 from 24.07.2006) and Russia (№ 72146 from 25.04.2007). They have passed all development stages and deployed in serial production. We have all required certificates and permissions to delf application.
