Results of statistical research of vocational guidance of university entrants are presented. Research purpose it is an increase of efficiency of work with university entrants of National Mining University. It has been considered а number of factors affecting students' choice of chief subject at the Economics Institute. Statistical correlation between vocational preferences of university entrants has been studied. For the specialties under review it has been considered the most influential kinds of vocational guidance activities. In descending order they are: parents' advice, friends' advice, print advertising, on-line advertising at the National Mining University website, open days.
