Data compression for Internet-GIS

Annotation:

Paper is dedicated to analysis of data compression algorithms and approaches in online-GIS. Main geodatabase data types are marked out. They are classified by features, critical for compression algorithms. Main approaches, algorithms and standards of compression for each data type are discussed. Data compression solution based on proxy-server architecture with differential compression is proposed.
