The solution of important scientific and technical problems of rational creation choice of pitedges. Existent solution for the creation of pitedges steady contour. Providing the minimum volume of the quarries is analysed. Proceeding from representations of open mining geomechanics, the optimising problem for definition of a contour of pitedges is formulated and its decision of this problem with use of a special technique is offered.
