The efficiency of use of the complex of geological researches for an operative rating of ecological status of territories of cities in coal-mining regions is shown on the example of Pavlograd city, a centre of coal industry in Western Donbass region. Due to operative complex ecological and lithochemical, hydrochemical and radiologic researches the territory of the city has been divided into sectors of various level of ecological state, comfort of residing of the population and reliability of operation of the underground communications which can be used in the system of complex ecological monitoring.
